Description:
The trombone is a brass instrument because it is played by blowing through it, and is constructed mainly of metal. It is a tube that can be extended by lengthening its rod, which in total measures about 3 meters. Sound production is achieved by vibrating the lips on the mouthpiece. To generate different notes, it is necessary to adjust the length of the rod and vary the air pressure, blowing faster and harder to obtain higher pitches. The sound is emitted through the bell of the trombone. Like other brass instruments, trombones can use an accessory called a mute, which is placed inside the bell to reduce the volume and create different sound effects. In an orchestra, trombones are usually placed behind the woodwind section and next to the tuba.
